1967 war – Cuba – Amendments to GA draft resolution

Cuba: amendments to the revised draft resolution submitted by

Afghanistan, Burundi, Ceylon, Congo (Brazzaville), Cyprus, Guinea,

India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mali, Pakistan, Senegal, Somalia,

United Republic of Tanzania, Yugoslavia and Zambia

(A/L.522/Rev.1 and Rev.1/Add.1)

1. Add the following new operative paragraph 1:

“1. Condemns the aggression committed by the State of Israel against Jordan, Syria and the United Arab Republic, and its principal instigator, the imperialist Government of the United States of America;”.

The existing operative paragraph 1 would then become paragraph 2.

2. Delete the existing paragraphs 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

    The General Assembly,

  

Having discussed the grave situation in the Middle East,

Noting that the armed forces of Israel occupy areas including territories belonging to Jordan, Syria and the United Arab Republic,

“1. Condemns the aggression committed by the State of Israel against Jordan, Syria and the United Arab Republic, and its principal instigator, the imperialist Government of the United States of America;

“2. Calls upon Israel immediately to withdraw all its forces to the positions they held prior to 5 June 1967.”
