Adib Zaidani Abdurrohman is an advisor for Reform, Legal, and Budget issues in the Office of the President of the 77th Session of the United Nations of the General Assembly (OPGA). He is a career diplomat starting his service in 2008.
Prior to his secondment at the OPGA, Adib worked as a First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia for the United Nations in New York. He covered all item agendas within the Budget and Administration Committee (Fifth Committee), ASEAN New York Committee, and focal point for the Inter-Parliamentary Union on behalf of his government.
From 2020 – 2022, Adib has been appointed for the role of facilitator for a number of important agendas item the fifth committee, including but not limited to the UN regular budget and UNPKO items. Adib is also an active coordinator and negotiator within the G77 and China groups for the 5th committee. In the past, Adib worked as a focal point for Multilateral Humanitarian issues, Technical Cooperation, Policy, and Research Centre, and also International Economic Diplomacy in Africa for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. He also served at the Indonesian Embassy in Pretoria – South Africa (2014-2017) and the Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne – Australia (2008).
Adib is a trained Economist and Commerce Specialist, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta (graduated 2006). He also holds a Master of Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University Australia (graduated 2011), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Information Technology specializing in data analytics from Western Governors University in the United States of America (graduated 2022). In addition, he was also educated at the Clingendael Institute of Diplomacy in the Hague, Netherland (2018). Adib speaks English, Indonesian, and moderate Japanese.
