Katherine is a speechwriter for the President of the General Assembly, Csaba Kőrösi.

Katherine began her career at the United Nations in the Department of Global Communications in 2006. As a Press Officer, she covered debates of the General Assembly, Security Council and Economic and Social Council on a real-time basis for the daily United Nations Press Release. She also edited team coverage, most recently at the 2022 UN Ocean Conference.

In previous UN experience, she worked temporarily with the Department’s Strategic Communications team, and with UNDESA, where she conceptualized and wrote stories on the Marrakech Process, a series of global initiatives aimed at helping countries achieve sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Prior to joining the United Nations, Katherine worked for eight years as a financial journalist. Based in New York, she covered cash and futures markets for Platts, a global provider of energy and commodities information. Based in Hong Kong, she covered foreign investment trends at the Far Eastern Economic Review, a Dow Jones magazine. At Hill and Knowlton, a global public relations firm, she managed a five-person team in positioning a government client in the US market. She also executed communications strategies for corporate clients in the pharmaceutical, energy and auto industries.

Katherine holds a Master of International Affairs with a focus on international trade policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University. She speaks English and French.
