On the 6th of Jun 2023, I had the pleasure of attending the International Bazaar. It is an incredible event of sharing culture in form of cuisine, clothing, and music of different nations with the ultimate goal of contributing the proceeds to charity. It was my first time attending such a dynamic event and it has been without a doubt the most memorable cultural exchange event I have ever attended. Culture is a dynamic, diverse, unique, and beautiful aspect of our lives. It is events like these that brings us together to acknowledge and celebrate our differences and similarities.
At a point where the world is faced with unrelenting challenges, it is important to see MS coming together to celebrate and reaffirm unity and peaceful coexistence that are integral to the stability of the world and integrity of the UN. On the sprint of “not leaving anyone behind,” I am happy to see nations collaborate towards humanitarian assistance outside the established formal working conditions of the UN system.
