For International Mother Earth Day in late April this year, it was rather opportune that I got to spend it with a small band of adventurers at the OPGA who dared to go hiking upstate New York, to a scenic village called Cold Spring. Uphill and downhill, we trekked through rocks – some sturdy, some not very – and wandered through forests of tall trees, leading us to spectacular views!
The hike essentially provided a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. We relished the opportunity to connect and really be one with nature, yet, equally importantly, we found that it strengthened the connection and spirit of friendship amongst us colleagues and created memories that we will treasure for years to come.
