2 May 2023 – The President of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Csaba Kőrösi, will make an official visit to Kuwait from 3 May to 6 May 2023.

During the visit to Kuwait, Mr. Kőrösi is expected to meet with Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Alahmad Alsabah

The visit to Kuwait is at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Aljaber Alsabah, with whom the President will also meet.

While in Kuwait, the President is expected to highlight his priorities for the 77th session of the General Assembly, and the importance of multilateralism and international rules-based system in addressing global crises.

The President will also emphasize the need for partnership in the full implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, and a transformation to a sustainable way of life.

Among these is climate change and the need for sustainability, particularly the recent 2023 UN Water Conference. The President will take the opportunity of the visit to Kuwait, to visit the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) to learn more about Kuwait’s Sustainable Water Development and Sustainable Energy projects, and will engage with young diplomats at the Kuwait Diplomatic Institute (KDI).

The President will be accompanied by a delegation of four staff members including the Chef de Cabinet, Mr. Laszlo Szoke, and the Office’s Political Team Leader, Ms. Janina Hasse-Mohsine.
