United Nations Headquarters, New York

ECOSOC YOUTH FORUM

President Csaba Kőrösi today spoke to the opening session of the ECOSOC Youth Forum.

He called today’s young people warriors… fighting the odds against climate change and other global crises on behalf of themselves, their families, communities and the planet…

With little more than their voices, social media accounts, and enthusiasm.

Despite those challenges – they’re winning.

The President pointed to the General Assembly resolutions requesting an ICJ advisory opinion related to climate change as one such victory.

He noted that the UN Water Conference ended with game changing ideas and a Water Action Agenda that will change the course of events.

But there’s more work left.

He urged young people to educate themselves, hold leaders accountable for promised made and share their stories.
