It has now been a month since, 5 other Fellows and myself have embarked on a new journey. I am originally from Rwanda and I moved back home in 2019 where I started working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda.

At the end of last year, I received the good news informing me that I had been selected to join the President of the General Assembly Fellowship Programme for the 77th session of the United Nationals General Assembly. This multifaceted programme brings youth from all over the world.

So, first, we started with an initial training organised by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) where we got the chance to interact with experts from various fields. This training allowed us to gain an overview understanding of multilateralism, and the work of the United Nations. The sessions were interesting as it was a good platform to exchange opinions and debate on past and current international affairs/global issues.

We have now started working in the office of the PGA and I am really enjoying the diversity that the whole team is made of. Everyone brings something unique and exceptional from culture, to personalities, background, and expertise. I am glad to work with and further learn from this talented team including the other Fellows.
