Readout of the President of the General Assembly’s meeting with the Taoiseach of Ireland

The President of the General Assembly H.E. Mr. Csaba Kőrösi met today with H.E. Mr. Micheál Martin, Taoiseach of Ireland.

During the meeting, the President and the Taoiseach discussed the challenges facing the international community, from climate change to conflicts. They also addressed the UN’s responses to the war in Ukraine and the relationship between the Security Council and the General Assembly. The President commended Ireland’s leadership on the Sustainable Development Goals and provided an overview of the 2023 “Water for Sustainable Development” Conference and its related High Level Preparatory Meeting.
