Friday, 23 September 2022
UNGA
Good afternoon. Today is day 4 of the general debate.
You know that the debate will continue tomorrow, no speeches on Sunday, and finish on Monday.
In terms of statistics, the final figures will be available on Monday.
I can tell you that as of last night, when the GA finished, we had heard from 104 heads of delegation.
That includes 89 Heads of State and Government, 4 Vice Presidents and 10 Ministers.
That’s my quick math.

G77
This morning, President Kőrösi addressed the annual G77 and China ministerial meeting.
He pointed to the current financial system, which he called, “uncompromising” and which “keeps developing countries trapped in a vicious cycle of debt and interest.”
He said the international community needs a financial system that is “based on inclusion, which inspires full commitment to multilateralism, sustainability and social stability.”
Looking to the 77th session, he encouraged participants to address each agenda item through the lenses of crisis management and transformation.
In our discussions, he said “I challenge ourselves to rethink how we approach growth and development, anchored in solidarity, science and sustainability, rather than obstruction, profit and selfishness.”
