Readout of the President of the General Assembly’s meeting with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

The President of the General Assembly met today with H.E. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The President and the Prime Minister discussed the devastating impact of the recent extreme flooding in Pakistan and the need to make urgent progress in addressing climate change globally. The President also provided an overview of the 2023 “Water for Sustainable Development” Conference and the related upcoming High Level Preparatory Meeting.
