11 September 2018 - Fordham University (United States), a member institution of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), will co-host through its Graduate Program in International Political Economy and Development and in partnership with the organization Catholic Relief Services, an event entitled Advancing Local Leadership in Today's Global Refugee Crisis. The event, in the form of a panel discussion, will take place on 25 September 2018 to coincide with the opening of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to the organizers, more than 65 million people are displaced in the world today, and on average, refugees spend about 17 years in exile. Panelists will include leaders from governments and civil society organizations that are currently partnering with Catholic Relief Services to address today's global refugee crisis. They will speak from their experience on the ground in an effort to empower local leaders to meet the needs of their refugee communities.
The event, open to alumni, faculty/staff, students, and the public, will be at the Corrigan Conference Center, Lowenstein Center, Lincoln Center Campus of Fordham University. For information on registration you can click here.
