The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), the American Association of University Women, the United Nations Environment Programme and UNAI member institution Lehigh University (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, United States) reminds that the registration for the Students Seeking Solutions Conference: SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation Challenge will close on 13 April. The event will take place in the Conference Room 2 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Around the world, poor water management, waste dumping and the unsafe practice of open defecation are among the numerous causes to negatively impact food security, livelihood choices and educational opportunities for poor families across the world. According to United Nations Development Programme, water scarcity affects more than 40 percent of people around the world, an alarming figure that is projected to increase with the rise of global temperatures as a result of climate change.

The Conference aims to connect bachelor's degree students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) around the globe with the tangible, real-world problems that the United Nations has highlighted in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

You are cordially invited to register for this event here.
