UNAI has the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 66th Department of Public Information (DPI)/Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Conference. This year's DPI/NGO Conference, entitled Education for Global Citizenship: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals Together, will take place from 30 May to 1 June 2016 in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea.
This United Nations Conference is organized in partnership with civil society, the Government of the Republic of Korea and the National Organizing Committee of Korea. It is the main UN event of the year led by civil society, attracting more than 2,000 representatives of not-for-profit organizations, including universities.
Three pillars of i) formal education, ii) informal education and training, and iii) advocacy and public information will be examined as means to raise awareness worldwide about the new Sustainable Development Goals, and explore the crucial role of education in their implementation.
The Conference will bring together the broader education community and will have a significant youth component. We encourage you to bring a delegation from your institution. The current maximum delegation size is 20 per institution, including students. Please be advised that at this time it is not foreseen that Conference organizers will be in a position to provide financial assistance for attendees.
More information about the conference, including a concept note and registration information, can be found at http://outreach.un.org/ngorelations/conference/.
We would also like to draw your attention to the opportunity for UNAI universities to mount an exhibit (details coming soon) or propose a workshop and more information can be found here: http://outreach.un.org/ngorelations/conference-2016/workshop-proposals/.
