2024 UNOCT Annual Report
The UNOCT Annual Report 2024PDF marks the first-ever Office-wide consolidated report, showcasing the achievements of its work to prevent and counter terrorism with focus on Africa. It highlights key results across its 17 global programmes, delivered in partnership with 140 Member States, and reaching more than 10,000 beneficiaries worldwide. The report presents both the progress made in 2024, and opportunities ahead to strengthen the impact of collective counter-terrorism efforts. These include the ninth review and 20th anniversary of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy (GCTS), the development of UNOCT’s next Strategic Plan (2026–2028), and the broader UN80 initiative.

UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy
The UN General Assembly adopted by consensus the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy on 8 September 2006. The strategy is a unique global instrument to enhance national, regional and international efforts to counter terrorism. The General Assembly reviews the Strategy every two years, making it a living document attuned to Member States’ counter-terrorism priorities.
