His Excellency Ali Abdussalam Treki of Libya (formerly Libyan Arab Jamahiriya) was the President of the 64th session of the General Assembly.
The theme of the 64th session was "Effective responses to global crises: strengthening multilateralism and dialogue among civilizations for international peace, security and development".
