Board

The following communication, concerning the Palestine Currency Board, has been received from Mr. Fletcher-Cooke of the United Kingdom Delegation.

My dear Bunche,

May I refer to your letter of the 12th May regarding the Palestine Currency Board.

2. Although the Palestine Commission has now been relieved from the further exercise of its responsibilities I presume that I should continue to address you as the appropriate member of the Secretariat as regards Palestine affairs.

3. I therefore enclose

(1) A copy of the 1st Annual Report of the Palestine Board (containing the Secretary of State’s minute establishing the Board and defining its functions).
(2) The Annual Reports of the Board for the years 1945/46 and 1946/47.
(3) The Half Yearly Account as at the 30th September, 1947 (accounts for the full year 1947/48 are now being audited and will be published in due course in the Annual Report for the year).
(4) A memorandum relating to the recent operations of the Board.
