Communication Received from United Kingdom
Delegation Concerning Customs, Tariff and
Exemption Ordinance, 1937.
The following communication, concerning the provisional application of Parts I, II and III of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade in respect of Palestine, has been received from Mr. J. Fletcher-Cooke of the United Kingdom Delegation.

My dear Bunche,
You will no doubt have seen a copy of the official letter No. 56/544/16/48 of the 20th March which was sent from this Delegation to the Secretary-General of the United. Nations, informing him that it was proposed to apply Parts I, II and III of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade provisionally in respect of the Mandated Territory of Palestine in accordance with paragraph 2 of the Protocol of Provisional Application of the Agreement.
2. I now enclose for the information of the Commission a copy of an Order and by the High Commissioner in Council under Section 5 of the Customs, Tariff and Exception Ordinance, 1937, giving effect in Palestine to these tariff amendments which were brought into force on the 25th March, 1948.

ORDER BY THE HIGH COMMISSIONER IN COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 5.

IN EXERCISE of the powers vested in him by section 5 of the Customs Tariff and Exemption Ordinance, 1937, the High Commissioner in Council, with the approval of the Secretary of State, has ordered, and, it is hereby ordered, as follows:- |
Citation |
1. This Order may be cited as the Customs Tariff and Exemption (Amendment of Schedule) Order (No. ____), 1947. |
Amendment of Schedule to the Ordinance. |
2. The Schedule to the Ordinance shall be amended -, (a) by the deletion of its 100, 531 and 532 appearing in Part I thereof and the substitution therefor of the following items respectively:- |
