The Secretary-General renews his condemnation of the on-going Israeli military excursion in Gaza strip
The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has been following with grave concern the escalating Israeli military excursion dubbed “Operation Autumn Clouds” and renewed his condemnation of this blatant aggression against the Palestinian people.
The Secretary-General directed the permanent missions in Geneva and New York to coordinate the efforts of the Islamic Group to act with the international community in order to put an end to this aggression which has killed and injured scores of people and targeted women, children and sacred places, further intensifying the continuous suffering of the Palestinian people as a result of this unjust aggression and siege.
The Secretary-General addressed letters to President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ismail Haniya, offering his condolences and affirming the OIC’s position in support of the Palestinian people and their established national rights of independence and the establishment of their independent State with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.
