The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. François Hollande, President of France.

They exchanged views on the Sahel and the situation in Mali, including ways to achieve a coordinated international response to the crisis. They also discussed the situation in Syria and the way forward in terms of the United Nations' action.  They discussed Iran’s nuclear programme, international support to Afghanistan post-2014, the Middle East Peace process and the humanitarian situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They also exchanged views on UN reform initiatives.
