The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Nicolae Timofti, President of Moldova. During the meeting, they reviewed developments in Moldova since the election of President Timofti in March 2012. The Secretary-General noted the important progress made in the reform process led by Prime Minister Filat’s Government. The Secretary-General and President Timofti discussed the key challenges going forward, including the fight against corruption.

On this occasion, the Secretary-General and President Timofti also reviewed the status of the Transnistrian settlement process.
