Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with H.E. Ms. Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister for Foreign Affairs of South Africa, in the margins of the
65th General Assembly

They discussed several regional issues, including the situation in Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Secretary-General and Ms. Nkoana-Mashabane also discussed the growing cooperation between the United Nations and the Southern African Development Community. The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation of President Zuma's role as co-chair of his High-Level panel on Global Sustainability.
