Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. János Áder, President of Hungary

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. János Áder, President of Hungary. 

They discussed United Nations-Hungarian cooperation, climate change, and the sustainable development agenda, including Hungary’s leading role on water and sanitation issues. The Secretary-General commended Hungary’s leadership in helping shape the post-2015 development agenda.  He also encouraged Hungary to ensure that its domestic laws are in line with international standards. The President and the Secretary-General concluded by discussing the situation in Ukraine.
