Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado, President of Honduras

The Secretary-General met with President Juan Orlando Hernández of Honduras, who was accompanied by the Foreign Minister of Honduras, H.E. Ms. Mireya Agüero de Corrales; the Foreign Minister of El Salvador, H.E. Mr. Hugo Martínez; and the Foreign Minister of Guatemala, H.E. Mr. Carlos Raúl Morales.

They discussed the humanitarian situation related to unaccompanied child migrants from Central America as well as the impact of the drought affecting the Central American region.  The Secretary-General reiterated that the United Nations will continue supporting regional efforts to address these issues.
