About the Record
01 What is published here, and how quickly
Statements are posted as delivered, normally on the day they are given. Letters are posted once they have been transmitted to all permanent representatives. Readouts follow the meeting they describe. Where a text is checked against delivery after posting, the page carries the date of the correction.
02 Languages
The vision statement is published in the six official languages of the United Nations — Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish — and in Portuguese. Statements are posted in the language of delivery, with translations added where they are issued. Linguistic diversity is a commitment of this presidency, and the homepage is available in all six official languages.
03 Formats, permanent links and reuse
Every document has a permanent page on this site and a PDF of the original. The page is the citable location; the PDF is the record as issued. Documents may be quoted and reproduced freely with attribution to the Office of the President of the General Assembly. Where a document has a United Nations symbol, the symbol is given so it can be traced in the Official Document System.
04 What is published elsewhere
Resolutions and decisions of the General Assembly, and the official records of its meetings, are issued by the Secretariat rather than by this Office. Press releases, media advisories and photographs are in the media section, and the schedule of plenary meetings is in the calendar of meetings and events.
