In accordance with General Assembly resolution 72/51 of 4 December 2017, entitled “International Day against Nuclear Tests”, the President of the General Assembly will convene a high-level plenary meeting of the Assembly to commemorate and promote the International Day against Nuclear Tests, on Wednesday, 8 September 2021, from 10.00am to 1.00pm, at the General Assembly Hall, United Nations Headquarters, New York.
The meeting will be devoted to enhancing public awareness and education about the effects of nuclear weapon test explosions or any other nuclear explosions, and the need for their cessation as one of the means of achieving the goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world.
