Readout of meeting between President of General Assembly and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia

The President of the 75th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, met virtually today with H.E. Mr. Ivan Korčok, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

They discussed the priorities of the 75^th session, including strengthening multilateralism and the international rules-based system, advancing the humanitarian agenda with a focus on the most vulnerable, accelerating action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and promoting gender equality. They also discussed the effects of COVID-19 on the work of the United Nations and the importance of the forthcoming General Assembly special session on COVID-19.

The President acknowledged Slovakia’s active role in the United Nations, and expressed gratitude for its support to his presidency.
