Bonn Climate Change Conference
Ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the Bonn Conference will launch discussions on a range of topics including greenhouse gas emission reductions, adapting to climate impacts, and providing financial support for developing countries to cut emissions and adapt to climate change.
World Environment Day
Led by the UN Environment Programme and held annually since 1974, World Environment Day this year is devoted to #OnlyOneEarth, calling for collective and transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet.
Stockholm+50
Fifty years after the 1972 UN Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm, which for the first time made the environment a pressing global issue, the UN General Assembly is convening “Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity” to tackle the triple planetary crisis of climate change, pollution and waste, nature and biodiversity loss.
Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction
The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is the world’s foremost gathering on reducing disaster risk, including from climate change, and building the resilience of communities and nations. It is organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction and offers a chance for governments, UN system and all stakeholders to recommit, with urgency, to accelerate progress on disaster risk reduction towards the achievement of sustainable development.
Sustainable Energy for All Forum
The global gathering will bring people together to take stock of progress, showcase success and identify solutions to achieve faster, broader gains towards sustainable energy for all. It serves as a platform to broker new partnerships, spur investment, address challenges and drive action towards realizing SDG-7 and a global clean energy transition.
17th Session of the UN Forum on Forest
Forest ecosystems are critical for the health of our planet and the sustainable future of people everywhere. UN Conference on Desertification
Under the theme ‘Land. Life. Legacy: From scarcity to prosperity', the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification aims to ensure that land continues to benefit present and future generations. It will bring together leaders from around the world to drive progress on the sustainable management of land, one of our most precious commodities.
XV World Forestry Congress 2022
Taking place under the theme, Building a Green, Healthy and Resilient Future with Forests, the World Forestry Congress focuses on six sub-themes, including reversing forest loss, sustainable use of nature-based solutions and forest resources, and forest monitoring and data collection.

International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

On the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the United Nations will host a virtual event with experts and athletes to discuss the relationship between sport and climate.
IPCC Report on Mitigation of Climate Change
This report, produced by IPCC’s Working Group III under its sixth assessment cycle, focuses on global and national efforts to mitigate the devastating and varying impacts of climate change, looking at innovation and solutions in energy and urban systems, and in sectors such as agriculture, forestry and land use, buildings, transport and industry.
Middle East and North Africa Climate Week 2022 (NEW DATE)
The first-ever Middle East and North Africa Climate Week, organized by UN Climate Change (UNFCCC), focuses on regional climate action and collaborations needed to build climate-resilient economies and societies, and integrate climate action into pandemic recovery.
Conference on Least Developed Countries (NEW DATE)
LDC5 is being held in two parts: The first at UNHQ in New York on 17 March 2022 at which adoption of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) will be considered. The second part in Doha from 5-9 March, 2023. Read more.

IPCC Climate Report on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability
The report, produced by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Working Group II under its sixth assessment cycle, covers the impacts of climate change on human and natural systems, observing their vulnerabilities, ability and limitations to adapt to climate change.
UN Hub at Expo 2020 Dubai
The UN Hub at Expo 2020 Dubai will host the Global Goals Week to feature a series of events focused on the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals, including climate action.
