Urgent Notice Concerning the Funding of Approved Contract Applications
The Office of the Iraq Programme will issue approval letters for approved contract applications only if the requisite funds are available in the respective sectors and phases.
The phases and sectors under which approval letters CANNOT be issued, either because the funds allocated by the Government of Iraq to the related sectors have been exhausted, or because the revenue generated from oil sales has been fully committed to applications approved under other sectors of the relevant phase, at the request of the Government of Iraq, are provided below:
Phase IV: Agriculture, education, electricity, food, food-handling, health, water & sanitation;
Phase V: Agriculture, communication & transport, education, electricity, food, food- handling, health, water & sanitation;
Phase VI: Agriculture, communication & transport, education, electricity, food, food- handling, health, housing, water & sanitation;
Phase VII: Agriculture, communications & transport, education, electricity, food, food- handling, health, housing, water & sanitaion;
Phase VIII: Agriculture, communications & transport, education, electricity, food, food-handling, health, housing, water & sanitation;
Phase IX: Agriculture, communications & transport, education, electricity, food, food-handling, health, housing, water & sanitation;
Phase X: Agriculture, communications & transport, education, electricity, food, health, housing, water & sanitation;
Phase XI: Agriculture, communication & transport, education, electricity, food, food-handling, health, housing, water & sanitation.
The Office of the Iraq Programme will continue to process all applications and will inform the missions concerned, in writing, if an approval letter cannot be issued due to the shortage of available funds.
The Office of the Iraq Programme is also in liaison with the Government of Iraq in an effort to identify alternative methods of funding of approved applications, such as the transfer of the application to the corresponding sector of another phase where funds are still available.
Please note that the OIP will not respond to calls or e-mails from companies inquiring about any matter regarding contracts entered into or being negotiated or regarding the consideration of contracts by the OIP or the 661 Committee.
Companies should direct all inquiries to their own authorities or to their Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
