SUMMARY STATEMENT BY THE SECRETARY-GENERAL OF MATTERS OF WHICH

THE SECURITY COUNCIL IS SEIZED AND OF THE STAGE REACHED

IN THEIR CONSIDERATION

Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, I submit the following summary statement of matters of which the Security Council is seized and of the stage reached in their consideration on 15 January 1949 :

Letter dated 11 January 1949 from the representative of the Provisional Government of Israel addressed to the President of the Security Council.

(b) S/1202

Cablegram dated 1 January 1949 from the Acting Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia addressed to the Secretary-General concerning the resolution on the Palestine question adopted by the Security Council on 29 December 1948 at its three hundred and ninety-sixth meeting.

(c) S/1203

Cablegram dated 10 January 1949 from the Chairman of the Security Council Truce Commission addressed to the President

of the Security Council transmitting a message from the Mayor of Jerusalem concerning the bombing of Jerusalem.

(d) S/1205

Cablegram dated 12 January 1949 from the Acting Mediator to the Secretary-General transmitting a report to the President of the Security Council concerning the opening of negotiations between Egypt and the Provisional Government of Israel.

(e) S/1209

Cablegram dated 13 January 1949 from the Acting Mediator addressed to the Secretary-General transmitting a report on negotiations between the Government of Egypt and the Provisional Government of Israel.
