ACTING UNITED NATIONS MEDIATOR TO THE
SECRETARY-GENERAL TRANSMITTING A CABLE
FROM CAIRO CONCERNING ARRANGEMENTS FOR
PROVISIONAL DEMARCATION LINES IN THE NEGEB
20 November 1948
I have the honour to present the following cable from the United Nations representative in Cairo replying to my communication of 13 November on the Negeb provisional demarcation lines, for transmission to the President of the Security Council.
"Am officially informed that Egyptian Government has appointed General Ahmed Fouad Sadek Bay Acting Commander in Chief Egyptian Forces in Palestine as Officer with whom General Riley may consult in connection arrangements to put into effect provisional demarcation lines in Negeb according your communication."
