held at Government House, Jerusalem

Consideration of the Draft General Report of the Conciliation Commission (Draft prepared by the Secretariat)

The Committee continued its examination, paragraph by paragraph, of Chapter A (”The Conciliation Effort”) of the first section of the General Report, beginning at paragraph 14.

Paragraphs 14 and 15 of the draft were approved.

Paragraph 16 was approved, with the addition of a reference to the setting up of the Technical Committee on Refugees.

Paragraphs 17 and 18 were approved, with minor drafting changes.

Paragraph 19 was approved, with the addition of a passage concerning the setting up by the Commission of the Economic Survey Mission.

Paragraphs 20 to 33 were approved, with minor drafting changes.

The meeting was adjourned at 1 p.m. and reconvened at 3.30 p.m.

Considerable discussion took place with regard to paragraphs 34 to 37, after which it was decided to request the Secretariat to prepare a revised draft of these paragraphs for consideration at the next meeting of the Committee.

The meeting rose at 5.30 p.m.
