1. ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

The agenda was adopted.

2. CONSIDERATION OF THE DRAFT PROGRESS REPORT OF THE COMMISSION TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The Commission completed consideration of the draft progress report prepared by the Secretariat and approved it with the understanding that it would not meet again on the subject unless there were further changes which might make another meeting necessary.

After some discussion, the CHAIRMAN stated that he would inform Mr. Asha, of the United Arab Republic delegation, that the Commission was preparing a detailed report which would constitute a reply to the questions that had been raised by Mr. Asha on behalf of the Arab delegations and that an advance copy of the report would be given to Mr. Ache when it was completed. An advance copy would also be given to the delegation of Israel.

It was also agreed that the Chairman would again raise the question of release of the accounts blocked in banks other than Barclay’s and the Ottoman Bank with the Israel delegation, and that, should the release be forthcoming sufficiently soon, the Commission would issue an addendum to its progress report.

The meeting rose at 5.55 p.m.
