Condolences from UNDP on the Passing of Former

Representative Timothy Rothermel

Jerusalem, 07 February 2012 – On behalf of UNDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People, Mr. Frode Mauring, UNDP Special

Representative, extends his condolences to the family of former UNDP Representative, Timothy Rothermel who passed away on 06 February 2012.

For over thirty years, Rothermel worked closely with and for the Palestinian People. With his passing, UNDP lost a great deal of knowledge and wisdom, the Palestinian community lost a respected friend and partner who left an indelible and positive mark on the Palestinian landscape.

“Rothermel has been one of the most steadfast believers in the Palestinians’ abilities, talents and human resources. He retained his love for the Palestinians till the end, and for PAPP, the endeavor of his life, besides his family”, said Frode Mauring, UNDP Special Representative of the Administrator.

Timothy Rothermel will always be remembered with respect and appreciation and will truly be missed.
