invites you to a special event dedicated to the

Annual Observance of the

International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

on

Monday, 29 November 2010 at 4 p.m.

at the

Vienna International Centre (VIC)

M-building Room M3

The ceremony will include Opening Remarks and a Statement by the Chairperson on behalf of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, a special message from the United Nations Secretary-General and statements on behalf of the Host Country, the Non-Aligned Movement, the network of NGOs on the Question of Palestine, the League of Arab States, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and Palestine. A detailed programme will be available on the day.

Earlier on Monday at 12.45 p.m. in the Rotunda of the VIC, there will be an event organized by the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine in cooperation with UNOV featuring a reading of The Gaza Mono-Logues, by Angela Waldegg. There will also be music from Bashir Mirzo and singer Zalfa Sheety. The Gaza Mono-Logues were created by Ashtar Theatre in Ramallah working with young people from 14-18 from Gaza using drama therapy and creative writing to express their experiences, dreams, fears and hopes. The presentation will be introduced by Member of the Legislative Council and former Foreign Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Nabeel Shaath.

by resolution 32/40 of the United Nations General Assembly.
