Mideast situation/Hadera attack – Russia, EU, UN Special Coordinator – Joint press statement

"An informal meeting was held today in Frankfurt between Russian Special Envoy for the Middle East Andre Vdovin, EU Special Envoy Miguel Moratinos and UN Special Coordinator Terje Roed-Larsen, to discuss the deteriorating situation in Ramallah and other parts of the Palestinian territories following the terrorist attack on innocent Israeli civilians in Hadera, which they have strongly condemned. They have been in contact with the different parties concerned, including through a phone call to Chairman Arafat during the meeting. The Special Envoys agreed to continue to stay in close contact and to coordinate with United States' representatives, the parties, and other key players in the region, in order to help to defuse the mounting tensions."
