ANNEX

Statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the

Sultanate of Oman on 2 October 1985

An official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the Sultanate of Oman strongly deplores the hostile attack carried out by Israel on the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Tunis.  The Sultanate considers the attack to be a case of flagrant aggression against the sisterly Republic of Tunisia and a gross violation of the sovereignty of a Member State of the United Nations.  The attack does not contribute in any way to the maintenance of security and stability in the region.  The Sultanate, which deplores this disgraceful crime, calls upon the international community stand firm against these acts of aggression.
