   Summary statement by the Secretary-General on matters of which the Security Council is seized and on the stage reached in their consideration

 

   Addendum

 

  Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, and in accordance with paragraph 7 of the note by the President dated 19 December 2007 (S/2007/749), the Secretary-General is submitting the following summary statement.

  The complete list of items of which the Security Council was seized as at 6 December 2008 is contained in document S/2008/10/Add.48 of 10 December 2008.

  The present addendum lists the items on which the Security Council took action during the week ending 20 December 2008. The dates given for each item indicate when the item was first taken up by the Council at a formal meeting, and the most recent formal meeting of the Council held on that item.

    The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question (3 October 2000; 16 December 2008)

 

  The Security Council resumed its consideration of the item at its 6045th meeting, held on 16 December 2008. The Council proceeded to vote on draft resolution S/2008/787, submitted by the Russian Federation and the United States of America, which received 14 votes in favour (Belgium, Burkina Faso, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, France, Indonesia, Italy, Panama, Russian Federation, South Africa, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America, Viet Nam), none against and 1 abstention (Libyan Arab Jamahiriya), and was adopted as resolution 1850 (2008).
