Letter dated 31 July 2013 from the Chair of the Committee on
the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People
addressed to the President of the General Assembly
I have the honour to inform you that, by a letter dated 29 May 2013 addressed to the Chair of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (see annex), the Permanent Representative of the Plurinational State of Bolivia conveyed the decision of his Government to become a member of the Committee.
The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, at its 353rd meeting held on 30 July 2013, welcomed this decision by the Plurinational State of Bolivia and approved its request. In the view of the Committee, this reflects the growing international support for its efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the question of Palestine.
In the light of the above, and since the membership of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People has been established by the General Assembly, I have the honour to request that you bring the matter to the attention of the Assembly for its approval.

For the Government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Palestine has always been a priority in its foreign policy agenda. Bolivia has expressed its support and solidarity with the people of Palestine in all United Nations resolutions and will continue working for its consolidation as an independent State.
In this regard, I have the honour to convey the decision of my Government to become a member of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.
