Situation in the OPT/SecCo meeting – Letter from India

LETTER DATED 30 SEPTEMBER 1985 FROM THE PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE

OF INDIA TO THE UNITED NATIONS ADDRESSED TO THE   

PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL

The Conference of Foreign Ministers of Non-Aligned Countries, held in Luanda, Angola from 4 to 8 September 1985, decided to call for the convening of a meeting of the United Nations Security Council to consider the situation in the Middle East, including the question of Palestine during the early part of the fortieth session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Accordingly, on behalf of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, I have the honour to request for the urgent convening of the Security Council under the item "The Middle East problem including the Palestinian question".
