LETTER DATED 13 MARCH 2000 FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL ADDRESSED TO
THE PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL
I have the honour to refer to the command of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO).
Major General Timothy Roger Ford of Australia, who has been Chief of Staff of UNTSO since 1 April 1998, will relinquish his command on 31 March 2000. Following consultations with the Governments concerned, it is my intention to appoint Major-General Franco Ganguzza of Italy as the next Chief of Staff of UNTSO.
I should be grateful if you would bring this matter to the attention of the members of the Security Council.
