Saturday, 12 September
Today is the International Day for South-South Cooperation.
The Secretary-General is in New Delhi, India, to attend the 18th Summit of the BRICS countries. He has been invited to speak at the open session on “Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth”, which will take place on Sunday, 13 September. During his visit, the Secretary-General will have a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Secretary-General is also expected to have bilateral meetings with a number of other officials attending the summit.

Monday, 14 September
The Goals Lounge, convened by the UN Deputy Secretary-General and hosted by the UN Office for Partnerships, will be held on 14-25 September.
At 11:30 a.m., there will be a hybrid press briefing by Carl Skau, Acting Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), following his mission to Sudan. This will be followed by the Spokesperson’s noon briefing, broadcasted live on UN Web TV. The guest at the noon briefing will be Pedro De Vasconcelos, IFAD's Financing Facility for Remittances Manager who will brief on IFAD’s report on the launch of the latest edition of the Sending Money Home Report and its key findings.
In Geneva, the 9th Meeting of the 63rd Session of Human Rights Council will continue until 7 October.
Also in Geneva, the Eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG) on the World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic Agreement will be held in Geneva on 14-18 September.
In Geneva, the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED) will hold its latest session from 14 to 24 September 2026.
In Vienna, the 70th IAEA General Conference will be held on 14-18 September.
The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will hold its 4th Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (GFEAI 2026) on 14-17 September in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Third Review Conference of the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) will take place on 14-18 September in Vientiane, Laos.
Tuesday, 15 September
Today is the International Day of Democracy.
At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.
At 1 p.m., the Deputy Secretary-General will deliver remarks at the event “International Day of Democracy: Raising Hands and Voices – Fostering Agency and Ownership through Deliberative Democracy”, hosted by the UN Office for Partnerships in the Goals Lounge.
In Geneva, at 10 a.m., the Human Rights Council will convene a high-level panel discussion at its 63rd session in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training.
Also in Geneva, the UN Information Service will hold its bi-weekly briefing for journalists.
At 2 p.m., in Geneva, Celeste Saulo, World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Secretary-General, Wayne Jenkinson, Director, Division of Hydrology and Cryosphere, Narelle van der Wel, Head of cryosphere monitoring, predictions and services and Anastasia Lobanova, Scientific officer, will brief reporters on the release of the State of Global Water Resources Report 2025.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is expected to release the report “Closing the childhood cancer survival gap through sustainable access to medicines: market shaping strategy 2026–2030”.
Wednesday, 16 September
Today is the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, the International Day for Interventional Cardiology and the International Day of Science, Technology and Innovation for the South.
At 10 a.m., in Geneva, Pedro Manuel Moreno, UN Trade and Development Acting Secretary General, Mutasim Elagraa, UN Trade and Development, Coordinator UNCTAD Assistance to the Palestinian People and Rami Alazzeh, UN Trade and Development Economist, will brief reporters on the 2026 Report on developments in the economy of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) will host virtually the Annual Forum of the Global Coalition for Social Justice on 16-17 September.
Thursday, 17 September
At 10 a.m., the Secretary-General will deliver remarks at the High-level Opening Session of the Global Conference on Promoting Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue and Tolerance in Countering Hate Speech.
At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV. The guests at the noon briefing will be Sarah Hendricks, Director of Policy, Programme and Intergovernmental Division at UN Women; and Shantanu Mukherjee, Acting Director of the Statistics Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs. They will brief reporters on the launch of the Gender Snapshot Report 2026.
At 4:30 p.m., the Secretary-General will deliver remarks at the launch of the UN System Data Commons.
In Geneva, the Human Rights Council will hold a high-level panel at its 63rd session celebrating the 60th anniversary of the International Covenants on Human Rights.
At 12 p.m., also in Geneva, Bernard Duhaime, Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-recurrence, will brief correspondents on transitional justice around the world.
Finally, at 3.30 p.m., in Geneva, Sofía Macher, Chair of the Fact-Finding Mission, Alex Neve, Expert Member of the Fact-Finding Mission and María Eloísa Quintero, Expert Member of the Fact-Finding Mission, will brief the press following the release of the latest report of the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on the Bolivian Republic of Venezuela to the UN Human Rights Council.
Friday, 18 September
Today is the International Equal Pay Day.
At 10 a.m., the Secretary-General will deliver remarks at the annual SDG Moment, High-level Week 2026, to be held in the UN General Assembly Hall.[IL2] The Deputy Secretary-General is expected to deliver closing remarks.
At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV. The guest at the noon briefing will be David Nanopoulos, Chief of the Treaty Section, Office of Legal Affairs. He will brief reporters on the “Treaty Event: Promoting Multilateral Treaties – Safeguarding Humanity”, which is being held at UNHQ on 22-25 September and will provide an update on the 2026 Treaty Event.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is expected to release its report “National health workforce accounts: health workforce levels and trends 2026”.
