Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Dr. Dragan Covic, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Dr. Dragan Covic, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Secretary-General expressed his gratitude for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s participation and support during this historic General Assembly session and encouraged the country’s leadership to reflect the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in its national legislation and policies.

The Secretary-General and Dr. Covic discussed the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Secretary-General welcomed the progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina with regards to its reform and European Union accession agenda.

The Secretary-General and Dr. Covic also exchanged views on recent developments in the Western Balkans, including the increased movement of migrants and refugees towards Europe.
