The Secretary-General met today, 22 September 2011, with H.E. Mr. José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, and H.E. Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council.

They had an in-depth exchange on a number of issues, including the situation in the Middle East and North Africa. They also discussed Cyprus, and the forthcoming World Summit on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, and the COP17 Conference in Durban.
