Statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on terrorist attacks in North Sinai, Egypt

The Secretary-General condemns the deadly terrorist attacks in North Sinai on 1 July 2015, which have reportedly killed over 70 soldiers and injured scores of others.

He conveys his condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government of Egypt. The United Nations stands firm with the people of Egypt in their fight against terrorism.
