Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Nikolay Bordyuzha, Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Nikolay Bordyuzha, Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

They discussed Afghanistan and Central Asia, as well as the growing cooperation between the two Secretariats in a range of areas. They also exchanged views on transnational threats such as terrorism, including the phenomenon of Foreign Terrorist Fighters, and drug trafficking, and possibility of strengthening common efforts in combatting these threats. The Secretaries-General further discussed cooperation between the UN and the CSTO on peacekeeping.
