Readout of Secretary-General's meeting with H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands

The Secretary-General met today with Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the Netherlands’ important contribution to the work of the United Nations. He also paid tribute to the contribution of H.R.H Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and H.R.H Princess Maxima in support of international development initiatives and their efforts to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals. The Secretary-General and the Queen discussed preparations for the centennial celebrations of the Peace Palace in The Hague, planned for 28 August 2013.
