Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Bob Carr, Foreign Minister of Australia

The Secretary-General met yesterday with Foreign Minister Bob Carr of Australia.

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for Australia’s leadership and support to the work of the UN in different areas. They exchanged views on Rio+20 and its follow up, as well as on the current situation in Syria, Libya, Fiji, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste. The Secretary-General looked forward to continuing strengthening cooperation with the Australian Government on all matters of common interest.
