Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with H.E. Idriss Déby Itno, President of the Republic of Chad on the margins of the 66th session of the General Assembly

The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on the situation in Libya and its humanitarian impact on Chad. The Secretary-General assured the President of continued UN support for the Government's efforts to address the influx of Chadian citizens returning from Libya as a result of the conflict. The Secretary-General and the President also discussed issues related to peace and security in the Central Africa sub-region. The Secretary-General thanked President Déby Itno for the support he and his Government have extended to the United Nations Office for Central Africa.
