SG: Good Evening, Ladies and Gentleman. The Chancellor and I have been discussing Iraq and the U.N.'s role in it and the need for us to organize ourselves to help the Iraqi people begin to put their lives back together again, and of course the role the U.N. must play. We also exchanged views about the consultations that have been going on in capitals and here in this place. And we focused on the next steps and the practical measures that need to be taken to get us where we want to be and of course the work that has to be done in the Security Council that will lead to a Security Council resolution.
I was very happy to see the Chancellor again and to have one of our periodic exchanges. We usually do this in New York or in Berlin, but this time it is here.
Mr. Chancellor maybe you would like to say something.
Chancellor Schroeder: [The Chancellor then made a statement in German]
[They took no questions]
